Community Kitchens

We’ve partnered with GW Dining to bring shared pots, pans, and other utensils to residence halls with communal kitchens, decreasing the hassle and financial burden of preparing homecooked meals.

Many of our first-year dorms do not have private kitchens. As our student body has voiced that preparing meals in community kitchens can be difficult when students lack the cooking supplies they need, RHA has provided every hall with a community kitchen with a complete set of utensils with no additional cost to use, including pots, pans, strainers, whisks, spatulas, and more. Providing these utensils is one major step RHA has taken to reduce food insecurity and lessen financial anxiety surrounding the dining experience among residents; In one article from the GW Hatchet published shortly after these supplies were given out, out of 20 students surveyed, 15 used the RHA provided pots and pans to cook.
