Overview

To remain in good standing, Hall Council members must meet a combination of mandatory and flexible requirements each semester.

  • Mandatory requirements are a group of meetings and events that every Hall Council member must attend/host. These include Hall Council meetings, Hall Council events (including one service event), RHA Kickoff, and a Community Coordinator 1-on-1 meeting. All Hall Council members must meet the same mandatory requirements.

  • Flexible requirements are a group of various ways to get involved with RHA, each worth a certain amount of points. Rather than meet the exact same requirements, Hall Council members must reach a certain “flex point” threshold by attending/volunteering at a combination of General Body meetings, flex events, committees, bonus Hall Council events, and conferences. Unlike mandatory requirements, each Hall Council member can choose the unique way that they wish to meet the flexible requirements.

    • Note: Unless you have a conflict, you must attend a minimum of four General Body meetings.

Flexible Requirements

In the Fall semester, Hall Council members must meet two flex point milestones: 75 points by February 25th and 160 points by April 13th.

  • If the February 25th milestone is not met, Hall Council members must attend a mandatory check-in meeting with the Hall Development team in order to remain in good standing.

  • If the April 13th milestone is not met, in order to remain in good standing, members will have to meet certain requirements based on the number of flex points they have.

    • 130-159 points: Member must email the Hall Development team confirming that they would like to continue in RHA.

    • 100-129 points: Mandatory meeting with the Hall Development team; poor attendance will be considered when applying to run for the Executive Board or for Assistant Director positions.

    • <100 points: Removal from RHA.

Hall Council members are encouraged to choose points opportunities that interest them. The one category that is required is General Body meetings–while GBMs are worth flex points, members must attend a minimum of four. Attending every GBM is highly recommended as it is the easiest way to get points. If a member has a recurring conflict such as a class or other student organization that prevents them from attending GBMs, they should reach out to the Hall Development team to discuss alternative ways to meet their flex point requirements.

New Hall Council Members (January 28th onwards)

If a Hall Council Member joins RHA after Winter Summit (January 28th), their flexible points requirement will be decided at the discretion of the Hall Development Team. 12 points will be deducted from their points requirement for each GBM that occurred BEFORE the new member joined. For example, if you joined a Hall Council on February 20th, you are required to get 72 points (attend 4 GBMs and 3 flex events) before April 30th, 2025.
