If you could have one superpower, what would it be? I'd have to say super speed so I could never run later again.
Positions you've held on RHA: Treasurer of Merriweather Hall | Fall 2016, Assistant Director of Finance |Fall 2016, and Director of Finance |Spring 2017-present
Tell us a little bit about your role on RHA and what you do: Currently, my job is to make and approve all purchases for the Executive Board as well as for the organization as a whole. I am in charge of managing, maintaining, and spending the budget, which includes providing funding for advocacy initiatives and for hall council events.
Other organizations you're a part of and/or fun things you do: Director of Finance for WAMUNC (Washington Area Model United Nations Conference).
Why do you like RHA and/or what is your favorite RHA memory? After stopping playing organized sports, I found a different kind of team in RHA. Almost all of my friends have come from the organization, including my new roommates, and it is amazing to be surrounded by other people who are motivated to make the school feel more like a home for everyone on campus! I'll go with when I was the treasurer for Merriweather, I ran an all Vern campus event (the Haunted Chapel), and we had a turnout way above what we expected and it was really my first taste of putting on an event that got people energized and excited. I really got to feel like a part of something better, and that's where I really connected with a lot of my fellow RHA members.
Dear freshmen: Don't be afraid to go for something you think you'll fail at. I ran for treasurer of my hall simply because I figured that if no one else wanted the position then I'd be ok at it. Now, I'm the Director of Finance and found an organization I can dedicate my time to. So, even if you think you won't make the team, won't "fit in" with a cultural society, or anything else, just try it, and you may find the group that will stick with you for the next few years!
Dear upperclassmen: If you have a problem of any kind, or if anything is ever broken, make sure you tell someone. Even if you don't know exactly who to tell, find out! Ask your RA, ask an RHA member, because RHA and the administration wants everything to run smoothly, but we can't fix things if we don't know something's wrong.
Fun fact: I've been in two communist countries for Christmas, of which one included a massive cave party in the middle of a bay.
Favorite place(s) to eat on GWorld: Rolling Cow and Paul Bakery.
